I guess I have to come to terms with the fact that Charles Forchu is dead, now that his memorial page is up and running. I have been reading my inbox exchanges with him over and over and I have to slowly admit that he will never come back to Dallas, Texas. He will never complete the project he started for me, he will never fully implement the marketing strategy for my talents as he confidently promised. On Christmas day 2013, he called to elaborate on his plans some more but I was in the Movie theater watching Long Walk to Freedom so I promised to call later but ended up just sending a text. On December 26th, when he fatefully departed the USA, he sent me a text on his way out, reassuring me for the umpteenth time of his commitment. I always tried to tell him to take his time and often told him I was patient which earned me the nickname "humble professor" and "patient professor". He was simply too excited about what he was going to do for me and what the outcome would be. Charles' level of engagement on this project was beginning to sound too good to be true. Now I know why. It was a dream for me to strive for. It was a star he was showing me up in the sky and all he was doing was informing me that I had the wings to reach up high! Charles told me he will contact me from Cameroon. He did as the messages below confirm. But, being the "patient professor" robbed me of one last chance to talk with Charles. Well, Charles will not be coming back to Dallas as he promised. Just as he predicted, "Something else came up". I don't think he knew, it would be his illness and death. But there's one thing his death will not take from me: the fire and energy he breathed into my dreams. Charles, I never met you in this life BUT somewhere down the line I hope I would make you proud by accomplishing ALL the things you believed I could still do and should be doing. Rest in perfect peace, my brother! I am praying for your immediate and enlarged families. I will look over the designs you sent to me again. I know you would be guiding me from above. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Your humble and patient Professor!
